Reaching Our Cities with Simple, Reproducible Disciple-Making

Across Asia, God is opening surprising doors for disciple-making. Scott and the Singapore team carry a vision to see multiplying discipleship networks established in 15 strategic cities over the next five years. Teams are already active in four cities, with new works emerging in three more.

Sam, a South Asian leader, recently encountered a 600-member Hindu sect—many of whom had seen visions of Jesus and begun worshipping Him. Instead of drawing them into a traditional church structure, Sam equipped local leaders to study the Bible using Discovery Bible Study (DBS), disciple others, and raise up new leaders inside their own networks. The gospel is spreading, not by extraction, but by empowering insiders to reach their communities.

In another city, Salam shares how he once hated the gospel so much that he wanted to kill his uncle when he began following Jesus. But his uncle’s transformed life spoke louder than words. Nearly 40 family members—including Salam—have now come to faith. Today Salam leads one of ten teams discipling youth in a local slum. Through simple Discovery Groups, young people are encountering God’s Word and families are seeing real change.

Whether among a Hindu sect or in a crowded slum, the same principle holds true: as we make disciples ourselves and model simple, reproducible tools like DBS, we empower others to do the same. The Kingdom of God is growing—not through big programs, but through ordinary people reaching their own communities, like a mustard seed quietly taking root and spreading across our cities.
