Reaching Muslims on Campus

During this season of Ramadan, James, our UniVision leader in East Africa, felt God calling him to reach beyond his local Islamic university, where he had already seen Muslim students come to Christ. He prayed and fasted, asking God to open doors. And God answered.

At another Islamic university, where 70% of students are Muslim, James was connected with a Christian leader who introduced him to students. He was stunned by their openness.

“Please pray for us,” they told him. “Mohammed is not helping us. We are facing demonic oppression, sickness, and even death. Many of our parents are witch doctors, and we feel trapped in this darkness.”

They shared how their families struggled, with some unable to finish their education due to unexplained financial loss. “I’m the only one in my family to make it through university,” several admitted.

James understood. He had faced spiritual darkness himself but had been set free by Jesus. He shared his testimony, and when he asked, “Who wants to speak with me privately and pray?”—ten young Muslim men responded.

That moment sparked something powerful. A Discovery Bible Study began on campus. These students don’t just represent a Bible study; they represent families and communities searching for truth.
