Anjali lives in a region of South Asia. Several years ago, Anjali came to Christ through the faithful witness of another local believer. As she continued to grow, she participated in simple disciple-making training that helped her to engage with the Bible, follow Jesus and share her faith in everyday life.
Over time, Anjali’s entire family also came to faith and were baptised. Yet not long after, the family entered a season of intense financial pressure. With limited income, Anjali took out a loan to cover basic needs, then another loan to repay the first. As the debt mounted and no clear solution appeared, the weight of hopelessness became overwhelming.
In her distress, Anjali reached a breaking point and attempted to take her own life.
When the woman who had first walked with Anjali in faith heard what was happening, she went immediately to Anjali’s home. She listened, spoke gently, and reminded her of God’s heart for life. Together they prayed, asking God for forgiveness, help, and provision, choosing once again to trust Him with their needs. That day, the entire family cried out to God for a way forward.
Around this time, Anjali’s son, Rahul, had been unable to find stable work. Unexpectedly, an opportunity opened for him to start a small chai stall. What began modestly soon grew into a reliable source of income. The business began to do well, allowing the family to meet daily needs and steadily repay their debts.
Today, Anjali’s home — and her son’s chai stall — have become places of hope. As people stop by for tea, Anjali openly shares stories of her life and of Jesus. Conversations naturally turn to prayer, faith, and the struggles people are carrying. These regular conversations have grown into a simple Jesus discussion group, where neighbours come with their problems and encounter God together.
The woman who once stood on the edge of despair is now helping others find hope. God met her in her place of deepest need, and through her obedience and faithfulness, He is now touching many more lives.
God often begins transformation by meeting people in their felt needs. As believers listen, pray, and walk faithfully with others, God brings encounter, healing, and provision. From these places of real transformation, multiplication flows naturally, right where people live and work.
