Daniel and Tim travelled to a new area of Southeast Asia to pray among one of the world’s largest unreached people groups. They spent the day asking God to open a way into a community where sharing their faith carries risk. By evening, nothing seemed to have happened.
Then Daniel’s phone rang.
A husband was frightened for his wife, who was experiencing what the family believed to be torment by an evil spirit. He remembered that Daniel had once been a psychic and called him for help. But Daniel’s life had changed. Over the phone, he prayed for the woman in Jesus’ name. Her husband said she was immediately set free.
When Daniel and Tim returned to the village, her family and others gathered. They wanted to know more about the Jesus Daniel had prayed to. Daniel opened the Scriptures with them, and a Discovery Bible Study began.
Today, three groups have started in the area. Two men, including the woman’s husband, have chosen baptism despite the risks, and others are exploring that step of faith.
This is how disciple-making movements can begin: entering a new community in prayer, recognising someone spiritually open, and discovering how God may work through that person’s relationships. One husband’s call opened a way for his family and neighbours to encounter Jesus together.
