Middlesbrough and the North East: Reaching the Broken with Hope
Focusing on Middlesbrough and the North East of England—home to 2.7 million people, including 141,000 in Middlesbrough—we are seeking to see God’s kingdom expand in one of the most diverse and challenging regions of the UK.
Middlesbrough is a microcosm of contrasts, from extreme poverty and homelessness to areas of affluence. It has the highest rates of poverty, teen pregnancy, and homelessness in the North East, yet it is also rich in multicultural diversity. This unique combination creates both immense challenges and extraordinary opportunities for the Gospel.
With fractured communities and widespread isolation, there is a deep hunger for connection and hope. God is at work, bringing people together through affinity groups such as skateboarders, the homeless, and others who share common ground. In these spaces, disciples are beginning to make disciples, forming new communities of faith and belonging.
Our Work
We are personally engaged in making disciples among those far from Jesus, focusing on relationships and shared lives. At the same time, we partner with beleivers across the region to provide training, encouragement, and coaching in Disciple-Making Movement.
Our vision is not confined to the North East. As people experience transformation here, we believe they will be equipped and called to go wherever God sends them, taking the Good News to the ends of the earth.
God is opening doors in Middlesbrough and beyond, and we are excited to see what He will do in this region and through its people.
